Abstract

The ability of banks to survive various economic shocks and the extent to which banks can absorb or spread these shocks to parts of the economy are important aspects for financial stability. This study aims to look at the relationship between internal banking factors represented by the credit risk dimension presented by NPLs, profitability propped through ROE while BOPO represents the dimension of operational efficiency to the financial stability of bank companies in Indonesia. Using Fixed Effect Model (FEM) analysis, the higher the percentage of non-performing loans and operational inefficiencies can reduce bank stability. This is due to the increased risk of debtor default which can reduce interest income, reduce asset quality, and increase the potential losses that must be borne by banks. Meanwhile, ROE shows a different result, as a higher ROE contributes positively to bank stability.
