THE INFLUENCE OF READING STRATEGIES IN LEARNING READING COMPREHENSION

Abstract

English language has four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Reading in English as Foreign language setting has main goal for EFL students to gain the information, pleasure and any purpose for their studies. Reading is a very important skill in mastering a language. Reading abilities that is utilized in all subject in the school, when students learn about reading, so they can comprehend what they realize and get data about subject that help build up their abilities. This research is aimed to find the influence of reading strategies in student’s reading comprehension. The result was found several reading strategies used by the participants, namely repeated reading, taking notes. The strategies were very helpful in understanding the text. It can help students read more quickly and effectively.
