Abstract

Motor Listrik merupakan equipment yang umum dan banyak kita jumpai di suatu industri. Pada kilang Fractianation Plant PT PERTA –SAMTAN GAS penggunaanya pun sangatlah luas, seperti penggerak pompa, compressor, turbin, fan dan lain lain. PT.PERTA-SAMTAN GAS mempunyai motor listrik dalam jumlah yang cukup banyak untuk melakukan proses produksi. Untuk meng-efisienkan pengoperasian motor-motor listrik ini, PT.PERTA-SAMTAN GAS membuat suatu pusat pengontrolan operasi motor listrik yaitu Motor Control Center (MCC), artinya suatu MCC mampu mengontrol operasi beberapa motor dalam waktu yang bersamaan. Selain itu, jika controller dari motor ini diletakkan secara terpisah pisah di lapangan bersama motornya maka controller tersebut akan sangat rentan untuk korosi, dan juga akan terganggu karena temperature dan vibrasi. Oleh sebab itu, kebanyakan industri membuat MCC (motor control center).
